I was reminded by a cute little card I recieved in the Mail yesterday ( From my Amazing Mother in Law) that it's my Birthday soon.
I actually still enjoy my Birthday and love that it's in spring. All the funky rubber boots hitting the shelves, the beautiful sunshine we all can't get enough of and the little mysterious green sprouts popping up all over my garden ( I've yet to remember what I stuck in there)
I laughed so hard this morning, my toothpaste goobered all over my chin...
Get this- My daughter says "Mom, what day is your birthday again?"
"Monday hunny bear" I managed to spit out
*EYES WIDE*
" I BETTER GET CRACKIN!" and she zoomed outta the bathroom! Through my hysterical laughing, I was able to hide my excitment at the prospects of a beautiful birthday card the size of my head adorned with Glitter, sequins and as many hearts as she had time to draw. What a lucky Mommy I am!
I love our little girl!
I'm off to fake something away with all of this- Vintage Sheets. It's a shame I'll be cutting them but the end product ( quilt, picnic blanket?) will be even more beautiful.. just need to think of a pattern...

Just admit it....
.... I'm not the only one that signs out quilting books because of their pictures.. ok maybe I am..My latest addiction is this book. I recently borrowed it from the Library about 20 times (because I'm cheap and don't spend the money until I know I really want to) and can't get enough of this book. I stare at the pictures before bed, took it shopping with me a few times and used it to dream of candy and chocolates.
I don't really like to copy other people's patterns.. but I actually want to make one of every quilt in this book! The work these ladies have done is stunning!
what do you think?.. Time to get myself my own copy?..

I've started...
Welcome!
I love to craft, Garden & bake, but I'm not good at either of these things. I FAKE it.. yup.. don't ask me how.. but I see an idea that's way beyond my skill level and tweak it to how I THINK I can make it work. I create because I love to.. not because I'm a sucker for punishment. I'm too laid back to take a design seriously enough to unravel stitches in the effort to make something look perfect.. I like things perfectly imperfect.
So.. all you regular bloggers out there.. here is a plea. Instruct me on how to shrink that darn picture at the top of my page.. it's way too large.. but too cute not to share.. It's my latest creation. A sorbet inspired quilt that I created for my daughter's 7th birthday this month. I got the idea from a Turnover quilt pattern I drooled over on the Moda Bake shop website. http://www.modabakeshop.com/2009/03/swanky-turnover-quilt.html I visit their page just to get jealous.. no seriously.. the design of the page is too cute.. as are the charming quilts!
